Recovery Time
Different joints involved in running injury and pain normally recover at different time frames.
However, 3 – 8 weeks of clinical and self treatment will allow you to return to running in the timeframe.
Assessment of Injury
Pain and injury with running requires a thorough assessment of all the joints and muscles of the lower limb.
This allows us to determine the cause of your pain and also helps us identify contributing factors to the pain from the other joints.
Footwear Assessment
Appropriate footwear is a major contributor to keeping you pain free.
Our clinicians will make recommendations should there be a need for any modifications to assist your recovery.
Treatment of Injury
Treatment is divided into phases which include:
- Pain and Symptom Treatment
- Modification and treatment to contributing joints or muscles.
Running Assessment
If needed, the physio may conduct a video analysis of your running technique to identify any modifications that may be required to prevent future pain.
Return to Running Program
A safe return to running is ensured by providing you with a progressive running program to allow you to get back to the pre-injury level of running.
We Monitor Your Progress
Using our exercise app, you are able to track your daily progress which is monitored by your treating physio.
This method ensures that a timely intervention can be made in case you experience any symptom flare up.
